The Aon Master Trust was established in 1990 and currently has $1.6 billion in assets, over 60,000 members, and over 600 participating employers.

The Trust offers a simple and convenient solution for the three groups with the biggest stake in superannuation - members, employers and advisers.

The Trust includes Corporate Super, Personal Super and Pension.

The trustee

The trustee of the Aon Master Trust (ABN 68 964 712 340) is Aon Superannuation Pty Limited (ABN 83 057 982 822, AFSL 237465), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Aon Hewitt Limited (ABN 48 002 288 646, AFSL 236667). The trustee is responsible for ensuring that the Aon Master Trust is run in accordance with superannuation law and the trust deed (the legal document which governs the Aon Master Trust).

Aon Superannuation Pty Limited has a six-person board of directors, also called the trustee board.

Stewart Fotheringham
MA, FFA, FIAA, Chief Executive Officer, Aon Hewitt, Pacific.

Joined Aon in the UK in 1985 as an actuarial consultant and a member of the UK senior management team since 1991. Appointed Managing Director of Aon Consulting Pty Limited on 1 October 1998. Previously, five years with a firm of consulting actuaries and two years with a leading UK life office. Stewart is a regular contributor to the financial press on employee benefit issues and leads Aon Hewitt's Executive Committee.
 
     
Frank Argent
BA (Hons), LLB, Head of Legal and Compliance,
Australia/Pacific Aon Corporation Australia Limited.

Joined Aon in 1989. Has been a director of the trustee since inception in 1990 and a director of Aon Hewitt since 1989. Is a practising solicitor and a member of the Australian Compliance Institute. Leads Aon's legal and compliance team for Asia/Pacific. Accredited mediator by Australian Commercial Disputes Centre (1995). Is a member of Aon Hewitt's Executive Committee.
 
     

Steven Gaffney
Fellow (ASFA), MAICD, AIMM, Chief Commercial Officer,  Aon Hewitt.

Originally from England, Steven was brought to Australia by Mercer in 1987, as a Superannuation Consultant. Steven moved into his own business “The Australian Superannuation Group” in the early 90’s in which he was the Managing Director and majority shareholder until it was acquired by Aon in 2000.

Steven’s role developed within Aon over a 10 year period, resulting in a position where he was leading Australia’s Employee Benefit Solutions Division developing Superannuation, Rewards, International Benefits and Financial Planning services to Corporate Clients. Steven accepted the position as Aon Hewitt Chief Commercial Officer for Australia at the end of 2010 and he is responsible for driving the foundation and the framework to ensure that Aon Hewitt achieves its growth targets. Steven is a member of the Board of Aon Hewitt Financial Advice and also on the Board of Aon Superannuation which amongst its responsibilities manages in excess of $2b of superannuation investments for almost 60,000 members. Steven is also on Aon Hewitt’s Executive Committee.

 
     

Michael Murphy
BA, FIA, FIAA, Principal - Retirement and Financial Management, Aon Hewitt.
Mike is the National Practice Leader for Retirement and Financial Management consulting and the Senior Actuary. He is a member of the Aon Hewitt Limited Operations Committee. Mike has over 35 years' experience in superannuation and actuarial consulting.

 
     

Paul Mazoudier (Non-executive director and Chairman)
BA, LLB (Hons).
Appointed in July 2006. With a legal career spanning more than 37 years, Paul has extensive experience in superannuation as well as the negotiation and structuring of international and local joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, foreign investment law and demutualisations. His other directorships include chairman of Sims Group Ltd and Atlas Copco Australia Pty Ltd and director of HPAL Limited. Former directorships and senior positions include chairman of GIO Australia and Ambition Group Limited, Partner and NSW chairman of Minter Ellison, and director of AMP Ltd, AMP Life Limited, Caliburn Partnership Advisory Council, Australian Topmaking Services Ltd, Sims Group Superannuation Fund and Atlas Copco Superannuation Fund.

 
     

Bruce Robertson (Non-executive director)
B. Ec (Hons), FCA, Aust. Society of Certified Public Accountants, ACIS, FAICD.
Appointed in October 2005. During his 36 years with Touche Ross in Australia and overseas, Bruce consulted with many private and public companies on a wide variety of assignments including acquisitions, mergers, tax, and financial, accounting and audit matters. In 1990, at the end of his 6-year tenure as Managing Partner (Chief Executive) Australia and PNG, Bruce withdrew as partner to undertake professional assignments on an individual basis, including several directorships.

 

Support services

Policy committee

If you are an employer with over 49 members in the Aon Master Trust, a policy committee will be set up for you.The policy committee allows you to communicate with the trustee about the operation and performance of the Aon Master Trust, and to discuss the views of your employer group. As part of our service, we will help you establish your policy committee.

The custodian

BNP Paribas Fund Services Australasia Pty Ltd (BNP) is appointed to hold all assets of the Aon Master Trust to give greater security to participants.

Administration services

Pillar provides administration services to the Aon Master Trust. Pillar's main responsibility is to administer the Aon Master Trust in accordance with the administration contract, the trust deed and employer agreements.
